General Information See our Bulletin for more information, see Registration Form to register a team, and see Practices to schedule practices after registration.
The Youth Dragon Boat Program is scheduled to run from June-September 2004, funding permitting. This program will also be designed as an after-school program (Mar-May 2005) and is opened to all youth in the region.
All youth teams interested in dragon boating will need a sponsor. A sponsor is someone who is willing to be legally and morally responsible for the team. This can be any of the community service organizations in your neighborhood, a local church, your high school or any local, non-profit organization. All youth teams are to be accompanied by 2-3 adults to all practices. The Youth Dragon Boat Program is a collaborative effort between the International Dragon Boat Association, the City of Oakland and relevant departments, the Oakland Unified School District and other regional school districts, and Port of Oakland.
